Things I wish I’d written
Have you ever come across something, an excerpt from a book, a line from a movie, a verse of a song or poem that just gets you? Something in the words that just ring so clear and true in your mind that it almost feels as if you composed them yourself in another life?
These are examples of those things, added as I run across them in my journeys through my world and this life.
These are the things that inspire me, to write, to draw, to live.

“A sudden dampness, a new private climate…”
…excerpt from “Wicked” by Gregory Maguire…
They couldn’t help but feel the unsettling eroticism of the landscape. from the eastern approach, the Kumbricia Pass looked like a woman lying on her back, her legs spread apart, welcoming them.
Up in the slopes, the pine boughs shaded the sun, the wild pears tangled their twisted branches together as if wrestling. A sudden dampness, a new private climate–the bark ran wet, the air sank heavily against the skin like half-laundered toweling. Once inside the forest, the travelers could not see the hills. Everything smelled of ferns and fiddlegreens. And on the shores of a small lake stood a dead tree. it harbored a community of bees, at their work of chamber music and honey.

…you make me complete…
Lyrics from Miserable, by Lit
“you make me come you make me complete you make me completely miserable”I’ve always thought these three lines are a perfect description of a relationship in it’s three phases: lust, love, loathe!
Good-bye
Quite possibly the best, saddest, broken-hearted love song I’ve come across, ever.
Lyrics from Almost Lover, by A Fine Frenzy
“Your fingertips across my skin palmtrees swaying in the wind Images You sang me spanish lullabys the sweetest sadness in your eyes Clever trick “Well, I never want to see you unhappy I thought you’d want the same for me “Goodbye, my almost lover goodbye, my hopeless dream I’m trying not to think about you Can’t you just let me be? So long, my luckless romance My back is turned on you Should’ve known you’d bring me heartache Almost lovers always do “We walked along a crowded street you took my hand and danced with me Images And when you left, you kissed my lips You told me you’d never, never forget these images “Well, I never want to see you unhappy I thought you’d want the same for me “Goodbye, my almost lover goodbye, my hopeless dream I’m trying not to think about you Can’t you just let me be? So long, my luckless romance My back is turned on you Should’ve known you’d bring me heartache Almost lovers always do “I cannot go to the ocean I cannot drive the streets at night I cannot wake up in the morning without you on my mind So you’re gone and I’m haunted and I bet you’re just fine “Did I make it that easy to walk right in and out of my life? “Goodbye, my almost lover goodbye, my hopeless dream I’m trying not to think about you Can’t you just let me be? So long, my luckless romance My back is turned on you Should’ve known you’d bring me heartache Almost lovers always do”
