Today started off rather well considering yesterday. I’m sure the evening visit from a certain Mr. Wonderful didn’t hurt any! But, as I was saying, it started off well. I was in a very good mood, getting things accomplished, no conflicts. All in all good, UNTIL I felt the need (don’t ask me why) to call my stbx (soon-to-be-ex) and invite him to my H&R Block appointment on Friday. I know, I’m a glutton for punishment. Anyway, he successfully made me feel like an ant in a world of giants which trashed my good mood and put me right back in that mopey place that I hate to be. I knew work just wasn’t going to happen, so I stepped out about 3 hours early.
First instinct: go home and go to bed until I have to pick up the kids. MOPE
Second instinct: go pick up the kids early (and be really grumpy with them…what fun!)
Third instinct: GO SHOPPING! Ok, so I took this one, but not in the normal spend-way-too-much-money-and-regret-it-bigtime-later way. I needed pull-ups anyway, so off to Target I go and while browsing the sale rack, I stumble upon a bunch of Champion workout stuff for like $5 and $10. $5 and $10! And the voice of Mr. Wonderful creeps in, telling me a) “can’t beat a shirt for $5″ (we share our S.D.S.: shopping dependency syndrome) and b) “if you buy yourself a new workout outfit, you’ll want to wear it and work out.” He’s so smart! So that is what I did. I bought $25 worth of sale Champion stuff, zipped home to change, and headed to the park, to run, outside! I’m so proud of myself!! (You would be to if you knew me like that) And you know what, 2 miles later with a half mile of sprinting at the end, I feel really good, physically, mentally, emotionally. The funk cloud from my stbx has lifted, and other than the sore knee and hamstring, I really feel great!! Thank you Champion, thank you Target, and I will thank Mr. W later tonight…..
